After the much awaited Neuralink show and tell, elon musk said that he is confident the neuralink device is ready for human trials. The device is currently undergoing trials on animals and the results are promising.
The device is a brain implant, size of a small coin, that is inserted into the brain and is used to treat neurological disorders but it can also be used as brain-computer interface for anyone according to Elon.
Neuralink apparently has submitted all the necessary documents to the FDA and is waiting for the approval, depending on the time it will take for the FDA approval, the device might be available for humans trails in 2023.
We are now confident that the Neuralink device is ready for humans, so timing is a function of working through the FDA approval process
Elon also promises that with the device, people who were born blind will be able to see using the device and that the device will be able to cure paralysis. It is not clear how the device will be able to cure paralysis but it is reported that the device will be able to stimulate the brain using electrical impulses and that the device will be implanted in the spinal cord and brain.
