SpaceX, the private American aerospace manufacturer and space transport services company, announced on Twitter that its satellite internet service, Starlink, has reached one million active subscribers. This milestone was achieved two years after the service went into public beta testing.
According to SpaceX, Starlink is generating approximately $1 billion in revenue per year. This means that the service is responsible for approximately 30% of SpaceX’s total revenue.
Starlink is a satellite-based broadband internet service that aims to provide high-speed internet access to areas that are underserved or unserved by traditional internet service providers. The service utilizes a constellation of low Earth orbit satellites to deliver internet coverage to users on the ground.

SpaceX has been working on the development of Starlink for several years and has launched numerous satellites into orbit to support the service. The company has also been working on ways to improve the service, including developing user terminals that are smaller and more portable.
SpaceX is available in more than 50 countries around the world and on all seven continents. The service costs from $60 to $5000 per month, depending on country and type of the service like residential or business or maritime. Starlink for planes is also available with hardware cost of $150k the monthly subscription is not known at the moment.
The success of Starlink is a major achievement for SpaceX and has the potential to revolutionize the way people access the internet in remote and rural areas. It also represents a significant source of revenue for the company.
It will be interesting to see how Starlink continues to grow and evolve in the coming years. With one million active subscribers already, it seems that the service has a bright future ahead.
