GigaBerlin, the Tesla Giga factory in Germany, Europe will be getting a new and renovate train station for both personal and logistical usage. Since the factory opened, the passenger volume for the local train line called RE1 has increased significantly.
The train station is currently not equipped to handle the increased passenger volume and is also not equipped to handle the logistical needs of the factory. The new train station will be built by 2026 and will be able to handle the increased passenger volume and logistical needs of the factory which is planned by the national railway company Deutsche Bahn.
Deutsche Bahn is planning on investing €200million in the new train station which will be called Fangschleuse. The new train station will be able to handle more than 10,000 passengers per day mainly from Tesla Giga factory.
Additional freight train lines will be added to the station to handle the logistical needs of the factory which is expected to be close to 1 Million vehicles per year. The new train station will also be able to handle the increased passenger volume from the local residents of the area.
This should help reduce a lot of traffic on the roads and also reduce the pollution in the area as tesla increases the production of the Model Y and the further planned expansion of the factory. Recent report from the observers at the factory suggests that the phase 2 of the factory has begun with some trees near the factory were cleared and the construction of the phase 2 is expected to be completed by 2025.
