Tesla is finally ready to deliver its Semi Truck, called Tesla Semi to its first customer on December 1st. The team apparently completed a test run of 500 Miles weighing 81000 lbs. This speaks the volume of success for Tesla team since there has been so much doubt and speculation on weather it’s possible to build an Electric Truck with 500 miles, even from notable people like Big Gates who is famously Short TSLA.
Tesla team just completed a 500 mile drive with a Tesla Semi weighing in at 81,000 lbs!
Elon Musk in a tweet announced earlier today that the team had completed the test run as they prepare for deliveries. Elon started that the production of their Semi had begun at their Nevada Giga Factory where they make battery packs for Vehicles and Stationary Battery Storage units called Megapacks and Powerwalls.
This is indeed a huge deal in the trucking industry as, there is a slow rate of adoption of electronic vehicles compared to consumer cars/private cars. This should help reduce the emissions by the trucking industry once there is a broader market adoption.
Tesla plans to make two variants of its Semi one with 500 miles range and another with 300 miles range. They will be delivering the 500 miles range Semi variant to its first customer PepsiCo on December 1st as Announced earlier last Month.
