Tesla is offering incentives to clear its inventory of new vehicles before the new tax credit starts in 2023. The company is offering a $3,500 credit and 10,000 free Supercharger miles, which amounts to almost $5,000 in savings for new car buyers in the United States. In parts of Europe, Tesla is offering 10,000 free Supercharger kilometers.

This move comes as Tesla prepares for the expiration of a federal tax credit that has helped boost sales of electric vehicles in the United States. The credit, which was introduced in 2009, offers a tax credit of up to $7,500 for the purchase of a new electric vehicle. However, the credit begins to phase out once an automaker sells 200,000 electric vehicles in the United States.

Tesla has already reached this threshold, which means that the tax credit did not have much impact on the tesla prices until a recent new proposal as part of Biden’s build back america program which removed the 200,000 limit that means staring Jan 2023, tesla cars will be eligible for the full $7,500 tax credit with the condition that they are assembled in North America.

With the new incentives coming up, it’s natural for customers to delay the purchase of a new Tesla until the new tax credit starts in 2023. This is why Tesla is offering these incentives to clear its inventory before the new tax credit starts.

Despite the expiration of the tax credit, Tesla remained bullish on the future of electric vehicles. The company has consistently set new sales records and has plans to expand its electric vehicle offerings in the coming years.

It is not uncommon for automakers to offer incentives to clear their inventory, and Tesla is no exception. The company has offered similar incentives in the past to help boost sales and clear out its inventory.

Overall, the start of the new tax credit program is expected to have a great impact on Tesla’s sales in the coming years and the company seem to be up to the challenge of producing more cars to meet the demand with it’s production ramp up for Model Y in new Giga factories in Berlin and Texas.
