In the fourth quarter of 2022, Tesla had a successful year with vehicle production and deliveries. The company produced over 439,000 vehicles and delivered over 405,000 vehicles. This impressive feat was made even more noteworthy by the fact that the company faced challenges due to COVID-19 and supply chain constraints.

Despite these challenges, Tesla saw a significant year-over-year (YoY) growth in both vehicle production and deliveries in 2022. Vehicle deliveries grew by 40% YoY to reach ~1.31 million, while production grew by 47% YoY to reach ~1.37 million.

The majority of these vehicles were Model 3 and Model Y vehicles, which accounted for 419,088 cars in the fourth quarter. Of these, 388,131 were delivered to customers. Model S and Model X vehicles made up the remainder, with 20,613 and 17,147 delivered, respectively.

Tesla started delivering the refreshed model S/X to customers outside of North America in the fourth quarter of 2022 which could be observed with increase in production and deliveries of Model S/X in Q4 2022.

For the full year of 2022, Model 3 and Model Y vehicles had even more impressive numbers, with 1,298,434 and 1,247,146 units delivered, respectively. Model S and Model X vehicles also saw strong numbers, with 71,177 and 66,705 units delivered, respectively.

Overall, Tesla had a successful year in 2022 despite the challenges posed by COVID-19 and supply chain constraints. The company’s strong production and delivery numbers for the Model 3, Model Y, Model S, and Model X show that Tesla is a formidable force in the automotive industry. Tesla also started delivering the Tesla Semi in 2022, which is expected to be a major contributor to the company’s growth in 2023.

The company’s strong performance in 2022 is a testament to its ability to adapt to changing market conditions and to continue to deliver high-quality vehicles to its customers. With the record numbers of vehicles produced and delivered in 2022, Tesla is well-positioned to continue its growth in 2023 and beyond.
