Apple apparently threatened to remove Twitter from the AppStore without giving a specific reason for it, according to a tweet from Elon Musk, the new owner of the platform. There has been some speculation that Apple and Google might try to remove twitter from their app stores as elon musk has been vocal about making the platform more open to “Free Speech” by letting banned accounts back into the platform along with the former president Trump.

The tweet from Elon Musk was in response to a tweet from another twitter user who said, during Covid19 Apple asked them to not return search results to some of the search words from the users in their apps, and that it would no longer allow the apps in their App Store if they did not comply.

This is not the first time Apple has been accused of censoring apps from their app store. In 2018, Apple removed the VPN app from their app store in China, which was used by the citizens to bypass the censorship in the country. Apple has also been accused of removing apps from their app store that were used to bypass the censorship in the country.

This seems to be like a new war between Elon and Apple, as he is also becoming more vocal about their App Store policies. He has been critical of the 30% cut that Apple takes from the app developers for in app purchases, and has been vocal about the fact that the company is a monopoly and should be broken up.
