Twitter has recently suspended several journalist’s accounts for posting links to Elonjet, an account that tracks the live location of Elon Musk’s private flights. According to Twitter, the new privacy policy does not allow users to post someone else’s live location without their consent. The suspension will be lifted after a seven-day period.
In addition to the journalist’s accounts, the social media platform Mastodon was also suspended for posting the link to Elonjet’s account on their twitter account.

While some may argue that this is a violation of free speech, Twitter’s new privacy policy aims to protect the privacy of individuals. Posting someone’s live location without their consent can potentially put them in danger and invade their privacy.

Elon hosted a twitter spaces event with several journalists to inform them about the new privacy policy and that the same rules will apply to them as well and did his “mic drop” moment and left the event.
